This course is focused on an individual, who does not yet have much knowledge on a topic and experience, and their professional development needs to connect with another individual, named mentor, who has a lot of knowledge and experience. There are a number of steps to take as a mentor, who knows more than someone else (the mentee), with the intention of sharing advice, offering guidance, and being a sounding board to someone else's thoughts, so that the latter can benefit from experiences beyond their own. Whether in a career or life, having a mentor is crucial to all of our continued growth and development. A mentor is someone who can help the mentee grow skills, make better decisions, and gain new perspectives on life and career. The mentor will leverage their experience to give the mentee guidance on their career or life now and in the future. Rather than learning through trial and error, a mentor is a person to whom the mentee can look for direction and a role model to imitate. This course will facilitate three very important sections, with techniques, theory, and action plans to meet their individual development needs for the specific topics.
It will be discussed and presented for mentors and mentees:
What are the benefits and opportunities?
What are the challenges and development areas?
What are the priorities for development?
